Post Producer
Swanson Studio is a commercial photo & video studio that creates cinematic, story-driven visuals, igniting the human connection to the products we love to love. We partner with brands like Nike, Microsoft, and The North Face, crafting innovative photo and video imagery in our Northwest Portland studio and on-location around the world. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Post Producer in our Portland, Oregon based studio.
About the Position:
We are seeking an experienced Post Producer to join our Production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in photo and motion production; you will work closely with our Producer to oversee projects from estimate to final deliverable. Success in this role hinges on a meticulous attention to detail, exceptional client relationship skills, and maintaining a positive attitude while managing quickly shifting priorities. You will collaborate closely with our creative teams and clients to ensure seamless project execution, delivering high-quality results that exceed expectations.
This role also requires experience in and a curiosity about emerging technologies and a forward-thinking approach. You will be expected to stay informed about advancements in AI technologies for both operational workflows and post-production processes, identifying opportunities to integrate these tools to enhance efficiency and creative output. The ideal candidate is ambitious, energized, and growth-minded; not only executing what’s assigned, but actively seeking new opportunities for Swanson Studio and helping shape the development of the post department alongside the Founder and Director of Creative Services.
What You’ll Do:
Project Management:
Oversee all aspects of post-production for photo and motion projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
Coordinate with clients, creative teams, and external vendors to define project requirements and deliverables.
Generate retouching and video editing estimates in a timely manner for both still and motion projects.
Build and continuously maintain a roster of freelance retouchers, editors, sound mixers for the studio.
Identify and maintain relationships with freelance talent utilizing cutting-edge tools and techniques, including AI-based retouching and virtual production pipelines.
Workflow & Technology Management:
Develop and implement efficient post-production workflows, utilizing the latest software and technologies to streamline processes.
Actively monitor advancements in AI technologies relevant to operational and post-production workflows.
Evaluate, test, and recommend AI tools that can improve efficiency, creativity, and quality across projects.
Oversee workflows for jobs shot using virtual production techniques, ensuring seamless integration between capture and post.
Stay current on industry trends in post-production, including new tools, platforms, and techniques that may enhance the studio’s competitive edge.
Manage asset organization, file naming conventions, and version control to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor post-production team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
Inspire a culture of innovation by encouraging the team to experiment with emerging technologies and AI-driven tools where appropriate.
Collaborate closely with other producers, editors, and other creative professionals to foster a collaborative and cohesive working environment.
Help define long-term departmental goals and scalable systems for growth, in partnership with leadership.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough reviews of final assets to ensure they meet company standards and client specifications.
Address any post-production issues or revisions promptly, working closely with the team to implement necessary changes.
Coordinate final sign-off from the Post-Creative Director on assets before delivery.
Client Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to deliver tailored solutions.
Present post-production strategies and updates to clients, providing insights and recommendations to enhance project outcomes.
What You’ll Bring:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in post-production, with a focus on photo and motion projects.
Strong proficiency in industry-standard post-production management software, such as Frame.IO, Box, Sharepoint, and Google workspaces.
Understanding of Post-Production editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Firefly), and DaVinci Resolve preferred.
Interest in emerging AI technologies and a proactive mindset for exploring how these tools can be integrated into production and post-production workflows.
Familiarity with AI-enhanced editing and retouching tools (e.g. Firefly, Runway, Topaz, etc.) and interest in exploring how emerging tech can be integrated into creative workflows.
Experience with post workflows following shoots executed in virtual production stages or LED volumes is a plus.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for visual aesthetics.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve outstanding results.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

This is a fully in-office position. Local candidates preferred, but exceptions made for exceptional candidates that are looking to relocate to Portland. This position does not offer any relocation reimbursement or package. Compensation based on experience.
